Who I Am and Why I Created Dr. Sierra Magnets

I am Dr. Irma I. Sierra, a Chiropractor and Biomagnetic Health Care Provider with more than 40 years of experience. Through Health Magnetic Store & More in Puerto Rico, I share magnetic wellness products, practical information, and the experience that guides my product selection.

I created Dr. Sierra Magnets in 2017 to help people make more thoughtful and informed choices when selecting magnetic wellness products. Over the years, I saw that many customers were unsure how to evaluate magnetic polarity, gauss strength, placement, design, intended use, and important precautions.

Dr. Sierra Magnets helps customers identify the products I personally select and brings greater care, clarity, and authenticity to magnetic wellness shopping. My goal is not simply to offer magnets, but to help customers understand what they are purchasing, how each product is intended to be used, and which specifications and precautions matter for their personal wellness routines.

What Guides My Selection

My approach draws on decades of experience in static biomagnetism. When selecting body-point magnets, magnetic jewelry, wraps, and support braces, I consider intended use, magnetic polarity, magnetic field strength, design, comfort, and practical placement.

The polarity of every Dr. Sierra Magnet is verified. Product descriptions identify whether the magnet is North (negative), South (positive), or mixed polarity, as applicable.

Product descriptions also explain magnet orientation where applicable, including which side is intended to face the skin and how to identify it. Because terminology and factory labels can vary among manufacturers, each product description provides the orientation guidance used by Dr. Sierra Magnets.

When reviewing magnetic strength, check whether the listed gauss figure is a manufacturer's rating or a measured surface field. The measurement location and method matter, so figures reported on different bases should not be compared as though they were equivalent.

A Family Legacy and a Personal Purpose

My connection to biomagnetism is also a family story. I am the daughter of Dr. Ralph U. Sierra, whose work and writings form part of the history I preserve and share.

I am the author of Power In A Magnet and Beyond the Power of the Magnet. In these books, I share historical accounts, my perspective, and the experience that has shaped my approach to magnetic wellness.

I also preserve original letters exchanged between my father and Albert Roy Davis. Excerpts from this correspondence appear in the chapter “The History of Sierra and Davis” in Beyond the Power of the Magnet.

For me, preserving this history goes hand in hand with helping today's customers make informed choices. Historical accounts and personal experience provide context for my work; they are not proof that a product will produce a particular health outcome.

No. Verification means checking the magnetic polarity; a physical marking labels a particular face of the magnet. In my sourcing experience, a manufacturer's use of “North” or “South” has sometimes differed from the terminology I use. That is why I clarify the intended skin-facing pole rather than relying on the label alone. Not every magnet has a factory marking, so consult each product's description for polarity, orientation, and identification instructions.

What should I review before choosing a magnetic product?

What does the listed gauss strength mean?
